The Motorola Digital Video Baby Monitor with 3.5 Inch Color LCD Screen is one of the better performing baby monitors on the market. Not only does it come loaded with tons of features, but it uses a secure technology to insure a constant, clear video and audio signal.
This Motorola Baby Monitor uses 2.4GHZ FHSS technology to transmit the video and audio signal back to the parental unit at a range of up to 650ft. FHSS stands for Frequency-Hopping-Spread-Spectrum. What this technology does is it transmits the video and audio signal from the camera to the parental unit in a way where it is constantly and quickly switching channels in a random pattern that is only detectable by the two units. What does that mean for you, the parent? It translates to a signal that is more reliable and secure than most baby monitors on the market. Plus Motorola encrypts the audio signal as well for further security and greater peace of mind.
Plus, you can see your baby on a huge 3.5”LCD screen with 25FPS playback. The video should never be choppy. Of course it includes night-vision capability as well but the features do not stop there. The camera has the ability to pan, tilt, and zoom, giving you full access to your baby. It comes equipped with 5 built in lullabies to help soothe your baby to sleep and a temperature monitor to insure your baby is always comfortable. Plus there is an out of range alert and 5 LED alerts that monitor the audio activity coming from your baby’s room.

Motorola Digital Video Baby Monitor Real Parent User Reviews
Most parents who own this baby monitor absolutely love it. In fact, it receives mostly 5 star reviews from Amazon. Most notably, parents raved about the long range this monitor offers. One parent commenting on the great signal strength said that it allowed her to go places in her home that was “completely off-limit” with other baby monitors.
Plus the quality of the picture never suffered no matter where they were. A parent noted that the picture was so clear, she was able to actually see her baby breathing. And the video quality does not suffer in night-vision mode as well. Also, the audio was so sharp, she could hear her baby sucking on a pacifier. There were never any signal-interference issues.
Most parents also loved all the extra features that the monitor comes equipped with as well. On the whole, they found the temperature monitor to be accurate. The two-way intercom featured worked well where the parent’s voice came through without sounding tinny. The pan and tilt function operates smoothly and silently, so it never disturbed their sleeping child.
There were a couple complaints with this unit that mostly dealt with the audio functions. First, the speaker is on the back of the parental unit, so when lying down on a table the sound is muffled. Second, there is no dedicated volume control button, it is an in-menu item, making it difficult to control volume in the middle of the night. And the volume cannot be muted, just turned down low, which some parents found annoying.
Despite these couple complaints, the Motorola Digital Video Baby Monitor is loved by the parents who are using it. With technology that insures a secure, clear signal and lots of extra features, this baby monitor is highly recommended.
